WHAT IS THE DESIGNATHON
Designathon is a weekend-long competition where students tackle a selection of design problems using computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing tools. Students generate solutions, build prototypes, and present to judges - all in the course of 36 hours.

Wondering about which CAD software to use?
McMaster Designathon will be held virtually on March 2022.
When and where?
No - you can either register with a team of 3 or 4! You can event sign up by yourself. We will have a team forming session at the event for you to meet like-minded students.
Do I need a team to register?
Registration will close on 3 March 2021. Subscribe in contact us to stay updated!
When does registration close?
Beacuse of our event being online this year we are unable to provide 3D printed parts for teams to rapidly prototype :'(
Does everyone get to 3D print?
Don't worry, we will have workshops throughout the competitions for students at all skill levels. We also have an enthusiastic and knowledgeable technical team that can help and guide you at every step of the way.
What if I don't know how to use CAD?
YES! Designathon is completely free for all students.
Is it free?
Sadly, this year event is online so no food and 3D printing :'(
Will food be provided?
You will be working in a team to solve problems with some provided by our sponsors! The problems will be presented at the event.
What will I be working on?
Designathon is open to students from ALL high school and university students!!
Can anyone participate?
This is an overnight event! Make sure to bring your sleeping bag and pillow as we will have a designated sleeping area for anyone who needs a power nap!
